The best of press photography
Château de Prangins presents the best Swiss press photographs of 2014, notably the reportage by Yvain Genevay, Swiss Press Photographer of the Year, documenting the story of a family of Syrian refugees that was published in “Le Matin Dimanche”. The winning photos in the six categories – News, Daily Life, Swiss Stories, People, Sports and World – are on show until 31 January 2016.

The Swiss Press Photo Awards were presented by the Fondation Reinhardt von Graffenried on April 15, 2015, in the Hotel Bellevue in Bern. Yvain Genevay, based in Orbe, won the main prize for his image of the Syrian refugee family Jeneid. 221 photographers sent in 3147 images, which were submitted to an international jury for the News, Daily Life and Environment, People, Sports, World, Art and Culture, and World categories. The Swiss Press Photo was created in 1991 to encourage and promote press photography in Switzerland.

Switzerland is neither an idyllic island nor a museum. This is clearly shown in the winning pictures of Swiss Press Photo 2015, in particular those by Swiss press photographer Yvain Genevay. He documented the fate of a refugee family from Syria for Le Matin Dimanche. The best Swiss press photos in six different categories are on display at the National Museum Zurich until 7 July 2015.

«Swiss Press Photo 14» is bringing together the best Swiss press photos of 2013 at the National Museum Zurich. The exhibition captures momentous events from 2013 in photographic images offering unique perspectives on the year’s milestones. This year’s competition was won by Mark Henley with his series on the nuclear talks held with Iran in Geneva.
