The Swiss Press Awards 2024 were held by the Reinhardt von Graffenried Foundation on Friday 26th April, at the University of Bern. Musician Mariana La Cruz premiered the Swiss Press Song 24 “Cinéma Vérité”, which she composed especially for the occasion.

In recognition of their outstanding work, each of the award winners was presented with a Diamond trophy and the sum of CHF 15,000. The 2nd and 3rd prize winners in all categories received CHF 3,000 and CHF 1,000 respectively. The category winners of the Swiss Press Photo each received CHF 3,000. The Journalist of the Year and the Photographer of the Year each left the stage with CHF 25,000.

The Reinhardt von Graffenried Foundation was established as an independent organisation, with the aim of promoting Swiss journalism.

For the fourth year in a row, the Swiss Press Yearbook, which showcases the work of the award-winning journalists, along with Switzerland’s best press photos, in four languages, is published by Steidl Verlag.
