Roman Polanski was about to receive a lifetime achievement award from the Zurich Film Festival when he was arrested on September 26, 2009 under an American arrest warrant. In December, he was transferred to his Gstaad chalet. On his first day of house arrest, he was welcomed by hoards of journalists and photographers from around the world.
