On April 26, 2011, a forest fire engulfed Upper Valais. This image shows the charred remains of the protective forest above Visp, photographed from the opposite side of the valley. In a ghostly, surreal manner, once stately trees rise like matchsticks from the charred, ash-covered earth of the steep slope.

Ursprüngliche Ausbildung im Detailhandel. Unmittelbar danach Wechsel in den Lokaljournalismus mit Schrift und Bild - allerdings Hauptschwerpunkt immer Fotografie. In den Jahren 2007/08 Absolvierung des MAZ-Diplomlehrgangs Pressefotografie. Seither Festanstellung als Fotograf bei der Luzerner Zeitung.
