Serge Turberg, the blacksmith of Notre-Dame

Sébastien Anex

The Jura craftsman is the only one capable of shaping tools like they were in the Middle Ages, in his forge in Malleray (JU). He's not just reproducing his grandfather's gestures, observed in Crémines when he was a child: they are ancestral and date back to the Middle Ages. His goal: to make one hundred axes that will be used to cut the beams of Notre-Dame, the Paris cathedral that burned down on April 15, 2019.
