These flamingos at the Dählhölzli Animal Park in Berne on 17th November 2016 are not shut inside this greenhouse to protect them from the cold, but from the bird flu. The reason for the quarantine are enhanced biosecurity requirements, according to which, certain bird species are to be safeguarded from any exposure to potentially contagious wild birds faeces.
