The athletes jump from heights of 20, 15, or 13 meters from the cliffs (in the Maggia Valley). They have approximately 2.5 seconds (during the fall) to execute their jumps before hitting the water (approximately 13-15 meters deep and about 17 degrees Celsius) at a speed of around 80 km/h. Participants include 3 women (GER, USA, UKR) and 19 men (SUI, RUS, GER, UK, FR, AUS, AUT). Five judges evaluate the divers.
