At the beginning of last year, a Syrian exile from Bern organized an aid transport from Bern to Syria. A group set out from Bützberg in three small vans, traveling through Italy, Greece, and Turkey to the border with Syria, where the aid supplies were ultimately handed over to the Turkish Crescent. This report chronicles the rigors of the journey, the drivers' motivation, the obstacles at the Turkish border, and the difficulty of bringing aid to Syria. Syrian doctors describe the dire health care situation in their interviews.
