The "Worb," the wooden handle, gives the scythe its character. Bernese people mow with the "Berner Halbkrummen" (Bernese half-crooked scythe). Toggenburgers use their short scythes, and no one from Innerrhödler ever picks up a Worb from Outerrhödler. Switzerland has 30 different Wörbe (scythes). Martin Strub produces around 7,000 Wörbe scythes each year in his workshop in Huttwil. He is the last great Worb maker in Switzerland.
