When Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer became the minister in charge of the Swiss army, he promised to make it»the best in the world”. But the People’s Democratic Party’s minister (seen here during an exercise at the Francophonie Summit in Montreux) has frustratingly been ordered by the government to cut military spending and to reduce military manpower.

1999 belegte ich den Studiengang Pressefotografie am MAZ, der Schweizer Journalistenschule. Seit 2001 arbeite ich als freischaffender Fotograf und bin Mitglied der Hamburger Fotoagentur Focus. In der Schweiz vertritt mich Keystone. Schwerpunkt meines freien Schaffens bilden Reportagen und Porträts aus der Schweiz, aus der ganzen Welt. Dabei behalte ich gern Geschichten über längere Zeit im Blick. Seit einigen Jahren gebe ich mein Knowhow auch in Workshops der Gruppe autodidaktischer Fotografen und Fotografinnen (GAF) weiter. Mit meiner Frau und unseren zwei Kindern lebe ich in Luzern.
