Bewohner des Fischerdorfes Ngor in Dakar schieben ein Fischerboot am Abend des 29. Oktobers 2023 zurück ins Meer, um es zu verankern. Das Boot hatte zuvor etwa 80 Migranten an Bord, die 15 bis 20 Minuten zuvor am Strand von Ngor gelandet waren, nachdem ihr Versuch, nach Spanien überzusetzen, wegen schlechter Wetterbedingungen abgebrochen werden musste. Bei ihrer Ankunft sprangen die Migranten in Panik von Bord und verschwanden innerhalb weniger Minuten, da sie eine Festnahme durch die Polizei befürchteten. Der Kapitän floh mit dem Motor und ließ das Boot gestrandet zurück.
