Big wall climbing, Chalchschijen

Robert Bösch

Its name is difficult to pronounce, and for a long time it was considered insurmountable: the southeast face of Chalchschijen. A rock face, deep in the Maderaner Valley, whose height and exposure exceed the dimensions of "normal" routes in the Alps. Two climbers from Uri and one from Zurich were the first to climb the face in August 2011.
