As part of the "My Care Star" campaign, with which the city of Bern honors people who care for a loved one at home, I wrote a profile of a care star. Barbara Adlivankine has been caring for her husband, who suffers from dementia, for 15 years and repeatedly finds herself on the verge of despair. Yet she feels a sense of obligation to him, and her love for him is eternal, even though he barely knows her anymore.
