Visual disturbances, headaches, and paralysis are just a few of the many symptoms that Daniela, a multiple sclerosis patient from Zurich, has to contend with. This chronic inflammatory disease affects the brain and spinal cord. To this day, it is unknown why people like Daniela develop multiple sclerosis (MS). In Switzerland, it is estimated that there are around 10,000 affected people. Some barely notice the disease, while others suffer severely from MS—so severely that they have to use a wheelchair, lose their ability to feel their arms and legs, and are dependent on outside help. The program "Doppelpunkt" follows Daniela, a MS patient, through her daily life. What does it mean to live with multiple sclerosis? How does Daniela's husband cope with his wife's illness, and what do experts say about multiple sclerosis?
