On 30th August 2018, the world’s top track and field athletes meet at the Weltklasse Zürich (part of the IAAF Diamond League events) in Zurich at the Letzigrund. The Kenyan Conseslus Kipruto loses his left shoe shortly after the start of the 3000-meter steeplechase. He doesn’t let it put him off and keeps on running. In a head-to-head finish, he crosses the line four hundredths of a second ahead of Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali, securing the win for himself.
