In Geneva, the only shelter for young mothers who are victims of violence—the Arabelle shelter—is no longer able to meet demand. More than 150 requests have been received this year. Among them, an increasing number are from minors who cannot be accommodated in simple shelters for adolescents. This is an unprecedented phenomenon since the institution's creation. Other shelters for women in distress are also overwhelmed. The managers of these shelters are calling for the creation of new places.
