This is a survey of elected officials—magistrates and municipal councilors—in Geneva's municipalities, whose workload is constantly increasing. Many of these local representatives struggle to reconcile their mandate, which also requires increasingly sophisticated knowledge, with their family or professional lives and hobbies. Sessions are becoming more frequent, and the topics increasingly complex. However, the compensation is far from the same everywhere. Some do not hesitate to make sacrifices to continue, while others choose to resign.
