For three years now, I have been following Yannick, who has a walking disability, with my camera. I was there for his first rehab session at the Children's Hospital in Zurich, which lasted several weeks, visited him in kindergarten, and this year reported on his serious hip surgery in a five-part series. I picked him up with my camera on his last day of school and waited when he woke up from the anesthesia. Yannick is now eight years old and goes to first grade in Hausen am Albis, Zurich. He suffers from cerebral palsy, a disability that affects one in five hundred children. Although Yannick has grown older and we have become more familiar with each other, filming is still the same: I have exactly one attempt at each scene, so recreating anything is impossible. I shot, edited, added sound, and presented the series without any additional help.
