Architecture Focus Week (Swiss Press Text 2012, by Myrta Fasser) - Swiss Press Award
Engadiner Post/Posta Ladina
Myrta Fasser
Dear Sir or Madam, On behalf of the editorial team of the "Engadiner Post/Posta Ladina," I am pleased to present to you the competition entry "Focus Week: Architecture" for the Swiss Prize for Local Journalism. Please allow me to make two or three brief comments. The "Focus Week" project is the result of an editorial retreat. We aim to delve deeper into a topic chosen by the editorial team over the course of a week and address it from a variety of perspectives. The editorial team of the "Engadiner Post/Posta Ladina" has already organized several Focus Weeks: in 2010, on the topics of "Potential Spaces" and "Integration," and in 2011, on "Living and Life in the Engadine" and, of course, "Architecture." As a bilingual newspaper, it is a given for us that articles appear in both German and Romansh. Another goal of this Focus Week is to consciously cultivate the various journalistic forms. We know that this concentrated focus on topics places a lot of demands on our readers. However, we are also convinced that a small local editorial team with a thoroughly researched series of articles can make a significant impact on a region. The feedback we've received has confirmed this view.
