Metropolitan Photos (Swiss Stories 2015, by Matteo Fieni) - Swiss Press Award

Metropolitan Portraits (RM) began in 2010 as a long-term serial documentary research. The concept involves the formal reiteration of a fixed point of reference (subject) within a constantly changing hyperplane (background) that proceeds hand in hand with archiving work. The author, as a Bally Artist 2013 (Bally Foundation for Culture), applied the RM format in From B to Y (BY); a journey that symbolically connects different people, places, cultures, and religions along a conceptual path of equality. Due to the upcoming release of a photography book, the series of photographs taken in 2014 have not yet been published in any media. The author has therefore opted to present the project's sessions, which were carried out exclusively in Switzerland (for regulatory reasons), in the Reportage category, despite the fact that this year's series began in the Balkans and ended in Normandy, a journey that lasted four months for a total of 31 sessions held in 10 different countries.
