A dream welcome for refugees fleeing the nightmare.

In 2014, the canton of Geneva welcomed eighty refugees as part of a pilot program funded by the Swiss Confederation. This refugee "resettlement" project was initiated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Bern agreed to welcome 500 people from Syria over three years. Geneva volunteered to host 80 of them.
