Kurt Pelda has had to run for his life more than once. The 49-year-old Swiss journalist has been traveling regularly to crisis zones around the world for around 30 years, including Syria, currently considered the most dangerous country in the world for correspondents. "Saying goodbye to my two boys is the most difficult thing for me before every trip," says the freelance television and newspaper journalist, who lives in Zurich. In the program "Menschen und Horizonte" on Radio SRF 1, Kurt Pelda explains that he hopes to make a contribution to combating war and the plight of refugees with his reports. He describes how he is recovering from his dangerous journeys after returning to his home in Zurich. He also talks about everyday life with his children and answers the question of how he manages to process the terrible images and experiences.
