Gasthof Rosegg / Unwetter Emmental (Swiss Press Video 2015, by Laila Huber) - Swiss Press Award

Background: This article was written two days after the devastating storm in the Emmental Valley. More rain was forecast for that day, threatening to make the situation around Bumbach/Schangnau even more precarious for those affected. The area around Bumbach was more or less sealed off. Since I wanted to visit the cut-off Gasthof Rosegg, but the fire department wouldn't let anyone into Bumbach, I took the opportunity to drive to the affected area with a local resident. I did this knowing I would have to walk the entire way back alone. The route led over a temporary bridge, small rivers, and roads that no longer existed. Right next to the inn was a campsite where people were still stranded and didn't know when they would be able to get home. On that day, Telebärn was the only medium able to broadcast images from the affected area. We were very close to the action and to the people. Content: Location of the Gasthof Rosegg (no guests, as there was no access), interview with the innkeeper. Campsite situation: How do holidaymakers spend their time and how concerned are they about the situation?
