In an eight-part series, local editors from the newspaper Der Bund wrote eight stories about Freiburgstrasse. The 12-kilometer route, which runs from the city of Bern to the canton of Fribourg, is far from tranquil—but it's full of interesting aspects. Once an important trade route, today it connects various spaces: It leads from the city to the countryside—from the industrial area to the agricultural zone, from a squat to the first SVP poster, from a Tamil garage to one of the last small cheese dairies still surviving.
