SNOWFARMING

Hans Peter Jost

In February, artificial snow is produced in Davos, which is covered with a 30cm layer of wood shavings. In October, the snow, which has melted two-thirds, is removed and used to create the 1.3km cross-country ski trail. This allows cross-country skiers to begin their training two to three weeks before the start of the winter season.
