The Swiss press has also recently been attacked with shady methods—as in the uncovering of malpractice at the Bodensee Heart Center or in the Giroud wine merchant scandal. Media representatives and informants are contacted by journalists who don't even exist, detectives follow them, and their computers are hacked. The article documents that the Bodensee Heart Center has used spying methods previously unknown in Switzerland. It dispatched detectives posing as fake journalists and book authors to prevent the exposure of shady dealings at the Swiss-German clinic. Real journalists have even been persecuted.
