The Surprise class sailing boats were on the water ready for the Swiss Championship from August 22nd to 25th, 2013 on Lake Murten. On the first two days, the 26 teams from four nations (CH, A, D, F) waited in vain for wind conditions that would have permitted a regular race. A change in the weather on Saturday brought not only lightning, thunder and heavy rain, but also enough wind for five races. On Sunday, the event, which was excellently organized by the Murten Sailing Club, concluded with another scored race. The young Swiss team skippered by Patrick Girod on the sailing boat Mordicus-Girod Piscines (start number 20) celebrated as the winners.
