At this year’s traditional spring festival Sechseläuten in Zurich, held on 28 April 2014, the Böögg, an explosive-packed effigy of a snowman, blows up comparatively quickly, after only 7 minutes and 23 seconds. The central committee of the guilds predicts: “It’s going to be a nice hot summer”. However, the omen did not prove to be reliable this year and those hoping for hot summer nights were disappointed.
