Annalise Stettler in her "Büecherstübli"

Tanja Lander

For over 30 years, Annalise Stettler has run the Büecherstübli (library shop) in Epsach, a village of around 330 residents. She stocks every kind of reading material she would buy for herself. She says: "Literature helps in life. Reading activates all the senses, and you find something in every book—in every one. A comforting thought, an inspiring sentence, an encouraging passage."
