Every 10 years, the Federal Roads Office (FedEx) opens the Witi Tunnel near Grenchen to emergency services for a large-scale tunnel exercise. A queasy feeling would probably arise were it not for the approximately 30 politicians and businesspeople who are guided through the tunnel during the exercise and observe the scene with awe.
