In early 1999, Ded Gecaj, a Kosovar, shot his daughter's teacher in the Engelwies schoolhouse in St. Gallen. He subsequently fled to Kosovo. In 2010, Ded Gecaj was finally arrested in Kosovo and later extradited to Switzerland. The victim's relatives and the authorities breathed a sigh of relief: the teacher-murderer could finally be brought to trial. However, it never came to that: Ded Gecaj committed suicide in his prison cell in the fall of 2010. My collage summarizes the events of 2010, from his arrest in Kosovo to his suicide in St. Gallen. The collage includes original recordings as well as archived recordings from the current program.
