Families of Ticino descendants who emigrated between the second half of the 19th century and the 1930s, including images of the places where they live. Photos taken in Oregon, Montana, Pennsylvania, Florida, and especially California. In February, the project was exhibited at the Mendrisio Museum (Casa Pessina), and the work has been published in several publications this year.

Flavia Leuenberger Ceppi, born in 1985, attended the CSIA arts school in Lugano, Switzerland, where she graduated in 2004 with a degree in graphic design. After a few years of experience in the field of photography, in 2010 she set up her own freelance agency offering both graphic design and photographic services, flanking her commercial activity with personal works: in 2013 she started the project “Moghegno-Monterey” dedicated to swissitalian emigrants, where in six trips she portrayed different families in the United States and Australia, this project (along with “swiss rocks”) was exhibited in October 2022 at the Swiss consulate in San Francisco. In 2015 she won the first prize at the Swiss Press Photo Award in the portraits category. In 2023 she won the second prize at the Swiss Press Photo Award in the portraits category.
