Passed in March 2010 by the Fribourg Grand Council, the new law on prostitution has sparked debate. Among members of parliament, on the one hand, but also among politicians, police officers, and associations working with prostitutes on the ground. The mandatory registration process for sex workers was a central theme of criticism.
