Some 900 people paid their last respects to the head of the Neuchâtel judicial police, Olivier Guéniat. The tributes were filled with emotion and dignity following his death a week ago. Olivier Guéniat, head of the judicial police of the canton of Neuchâtel, committed suicide with his service weapon. The reasons that led him to commit this act are not yet known.

Né à Fribourg, David Marchon se forme à L’Ecole de photographie de Vevey. Après l’obtention de son diplôme en 1995, il travaille trois ans comme photographe freelance; en 1998, il est engagé par les quotidiens neuchâtelois L’Express et L’Impartial. Son univers premier est donc celui de la presse (quotidiens et magazines), dans lequel il privilégie le portrait. Depuis quatre ans il partage un atelier photo avec un collègue photographe à Serrières, et à côté de la photo de presse, qu’il continue d’exercer dans les journaux neuchâtelois, il s’est spécialisé dans la photo de portraits, publicitaire et se donne du temps pour ses projets personnels. Il vit et travaille actuellement à Dompierre et Neuchâtel.
