The idea for this project was born out of a search for the unusually ordinary, the strangely strange, and the diversely unique. I explore the question of what constitutes the fascination of the hidden. To do this, I sought out selected locations throughout Switzerland that are inaccessible to many people or have remained hidden until now.

Fotograf, Basel, 1980

Photographer Kostas Maros (*1980) completed a law degree at university and worked in the legal field for several years before switching to photography as a self-taught photographer in 2013. Since then, he has worked for editorial and corporate clients in Switzerland and abroad; he also realizes reportage and art projects. He is a member of the photo agency 13photo (www.13photo.ch). His artistic work is represented by Galerie Wertheimer (www.galeriewertheimer.ch). He has received awards for his photographic work, including the Prix de la Photographie Paris, the Vfg Young Talent Award, and the Swiss Press Award. In 2018, he won the Swiss Photo Award for his work "HIDDEN - Hidden Places in Switzerland."
