On the two weekends of 30 / 31 August and 6 / 7 September 2014, about 400 000 people travel to Payerne to celebrate the centenary of the Swiss Air Force. On the military airfield they breathe the scent of kerosene, admire the display of aeronautical ability, and enjoy meeting likeminded people – frequently with their gazes facing skyward.
