René Huonder - On the Edge of Society

Dominic Nahr

René Huonder, a 79-year-old Zurich resident, was formerly an architect in Zurich and is one of those people living on the margins of society. He lives on 1,200 Swiss francs a month and, although the COVID crisis has made life more difficult, has been a volunteer at the Salvation Army's Hope House in Zurich since the spring. He walks the 5 km from his home to the House of Hope.
