My blog project is primarily about the residents of the migrant-dominated Wyde neighborhood in the small Aargau community of Birr. Among the people living here are Italian guest workers, naturalized citizens, a grocery store owner from Bosnia, a soccer star, and a mushroom picker from Serbia. It was important to me to get as close to these people as possible and to process their stories honestly and respectfully in my blog. Having grown up in this neighborhood myself, I was able to use an ethnographic method. As a hybrid medium, the blog has allowed me to utilize various online journalism options. Therefore, my blog contains text, images, audio, and video. I was also able to choose a variety of text formats, such as reports, commentaries, interviews, and classic short features. I actively fostered interaction with my readership through social media (Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus), among other things.
