On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Villiger Söhne cigar factory, I took a closer look at the company's significance for the village. The 83-year-old owner, Heinrich Villiger, talks about the former importance of the Swiss cigar center on the border between Lucerne and Aargau, and about the difficult search for a successor to his liking. I speak with the local community and, in a third part, with the long-time municipal clerk about how Villiger also ensured that the company's course was set correctly on the municipal council.
