Ayad Qassem, a South Yemeni, has lived in Switzerland for five years, and in Winterthur for the last two. In late 2013/early 2014, the situation in his homeland escalated, and several of his acquaintances were killed in an attack. In this portrait, he talks about current problems in his homeland, his own situation and that of his family, his fears, dreams, and worries. He actively participates in demonstrations and writes poems and articles from Switzerland for South Yemeni newspapers, as he was a journalist in his homeland.
