The Patrouille des Glaciers, organized every two years by the Swiss army in Valais, is Switzerland’s most famous ski mountaineering race. «Patrol» members must all be excellent skiers and hikers. 2010 participants Kilian Jornet, 22, ski mountaineering and long distance runner prodigy, and an anonymous man who was wounded after a severe fall.
