Sailing: Start of the Transat Jacques Vabre off Le Havre

Jean-Guy Python

On November 7, 40 IMOCA class boats and its five Swiss competitors, competing in the 16th edition of the double-handed Transat Jacques Vabre, set sail from Le Havre toward Martinique. In winds of nearly 60 km/h, the stylistic maneuvers off the coast of Normandy were spectacular. For Justine Mettraux, who was a standout in this race, Roura/Koster and Heer/Palmieri were the start of a big sprint.
