The Bernese Jura experienced several hard blows in 2012. Economically, hundreds of jobs were lost with the restructuring of Tornos and the relocation of the American group Greatbatch's activities to the United States and Mexico. Before that, there was the long agony of Swissmetal, in Reconvilier. And politically, we also remember the loss of the only Bernese Jura seat in the National Council during the last federal elections. Is the Bernese Jura like the now-legendary character from the show 120 secondes on Couleur 3, Gilles Surchat: sad, forgotten, depressed? Not really. The economy of this region is doing rather well.
