Kahn Humayun, born in Pakistan, came to Switzerland in 1989. For seven years, he has been a self-employed taxi driver in the city of Bern. The taxi quota in Bern is unlimited, so the city is overflowing with taxis. Like most taxi drivers, Kahn works six nights a week. Only full-time work allows him to barely survive. Nighttime rates are higher and therefore more lucrative.
