Usually one sees downhill skiers pin – sharp as they hurtle down the legendary Lauberhorn, shown here on January 17, 2015 – not just as colourful streaks in the white landscape. Thanks to a shutter speed of one fortieth of a second and a trained camera, the world’s best downhill skiers become ghostly spectres.
