Pilgrimage to the Saints of Africa.

Didier Ruef

Some 1,500 Africans from across Switzerland participated in the Pilgrimage to the Saints of Africa on Sunday, June 2, as well as the mass that followed at the Abbey of Saint-Maurice. Created in 2001, this event aims to project a positive image of the African continent. It was punctuated by songs led by twelve choirs. Women in boubou or traditional costume danced to the sound of tam-tams and balafons. Africa within earshot, to honor the memory of its saints.
