The editorial team of the podcast platform #das Netz delves into the subcultures of the internet. Their motto is: We work fairly, curiously, and uncomfortably. In four multi-part series, the editors explore the topics of memes, incels, pro-ana, and cryptocurrencies. They interview experts, and those affected explain and classify the issues. To get as close as possible, they become part of the subcultures. For example, they infiltrate chats with pro-anas – young women who downplay anorexia and encourage each other to lose weight. The podcast also features "coaches," men who claim to want to help the young women achieve their goals, but at the same time drive them further into their illness and, not least, sexually exploit them. The journalists reveal their identities and confront the "coaches" with their behavior.
