It's August 2005, and Francesca is on her way to the University Hospital of Zurich after her water broke in the 32nd week of pregnancy. Finally, after 56 hours without amniotic fluid, Davide and Serena are born. Both twins have spots on their brains (hypossico-ischemic encephalopathy). The doctors assure the parents that these spots will disappear over time. This happened with Davide, but not with Serena. Since then, Serena has lived in a semi-vegetative state. This is Serena's life today: Despite this difficult journey, we can now say that Francesca is Serena.
