Roland Schmid wurde 1966 in Basel geboren. Nach seiner Fotografenlehre bei Hugo Jaeggi machte er sich selbständig. Roland Schmid arbeitet heute als freischaffender Fotograf für zahlreiche nationale und internationale Zeitungen und Zeitschriften, sowie für Firmen und Hilfsorganisationen. Er ist Mitglied der Fotoagentur 13Photo in Zürich. WORLD PRESS PHOTO 21 Gewinner des 2. Preises in der Katergorie STORIES.
