Kurds in southeastern Turkey

Lazar Simeonov

Given the difficulty of access for journalists (myself and the journalist accompanying me were the first foreigners to enter the city of Cizre after months of violent fighting between the PKK rebels and the Turkish army), the current situation in Turkish Kurdistan is almost ignored by the Western media. This report provides some insight into the tragedy unfolding there.
